Russell McVeagh is pleased to have advised Summerset on its recently consented Half Moon Bay development, a 2.8ha site that will help to house New Zealand's ageing population.
The new village will provide a range of living options including 217 independent apartment style living units, 103 care units that provide for both rest home and hospital level care, and a range of amenities for residents to enjoy.
Russell McVeagh partner Daniel Minhinnick led the team advising Summerset on the development, with Jacob Burton and Poppy Mitchell-Anyon. The consent was granted by the Expert Consenting Panel on 11 April 2023.
"It was a pleasure to assist Summerset in navigating the COVID-19 Recovery Fast-Track Consenting process to obtain approval for the development," said Minhinnick.
"New Zealand is still in the midst of a housing crisis – including a shortage of suitable housing for our ageing population. The village will help to bridge that gap in Auckland. A lot of thought was put into the design of this village to highlight the best features of this unique site in a way that integrates well with the surrounding area."
