Profile

Kristen is an environmental and resource management law expert, with experience in major commercial development and infrastructure projects.

She has extensive experience in advising clients on all aspects of the Resource Management Act and related legislation, including the Local Government Act 1974, Local Government Act 2002, Building Act 2004, Conservation Act 1987, and Public Works Act 1981, included advising major infrastructure providers on resource consents, land agreements and strategy for infrastructure projects.

Kristen has experience in:

  • Preparing and acting for clients in relation to applications for resource consents for commercial and industrial developments.
  • Lodging submissions and appeals on national and local authority planning documents.
  • Lodging submissions and appeals on other environmental processes including other parties' applications.
  • Representing clients in local authority hearings and Environment Court proceedings.
  • Providing due diligence advice for company mergers, acquisitions and property transactions.

Experience

Kristen's recent experience includes:

  • Advising Watercare Services on the St Mary's Bay project wastewater and stormwater separation project.
  • Advising Mobil on consenting requirements for demolition and rebuild projects.
  • Assisting Spark on consenting requirements for new telecommunications facilities.
  • Advising KiwiRail on national and local authority planning documents.

LLB (Hons) / BA, University of Auckland

Professional

Kristen was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2005.
