Natalie advises clients on all aspects of property law, particularly in relation to complex and structured real estate transactions. Areas of specialisation include commercial acquisitions and divestments, development agreements and pre-lets and real estate focussed mergers and acquisitions. Natalie has worked for large institutional investors, landlords and tenants.

Experience

Her recent work includes advising:

  • Precinct Properties in relation to its development and leasing of Wynyard, including its entry into a development agreement and agreement to lease with Beca for c14,000sqm of space.

  • Precinct Properties in relation to their proposed redevelopment of the Downtown Carpark, including partnership arrangements with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. 

  • LendLease on its sale of Meridian Mall, Dunedin.

  • Winton on the formation of its $200m fund with MaxCap, its acquisition of Pier 21 and across a number of its residential development projects.

  • Goodman on a number of development agreements across its portfolio.

  • Logos in relation to a number of development agreements at Wiri and James Fletcher Drive.    

  • Battersea Power Station Development Company Limited in connection with its £1.583bn disposition of the commercial elements of the landmark Battersea Power Station building (at the time the largest single asset deal to have transacted in the UK). The property will become Apple's European headquarters upon practical completion of its redevelopment. The transaction was structured as a corporate disposal and forward funding.   

  • Ted Baker plc on the sale and leaseback of its global headquarters in London.

  • Terra Firma in connection with its disposal of the Wyevale portfolio of garden centres (c£450m), including providing strategic advice in relation to the winding up of the Wyevale group.

  • A UK-based developer in connection with a £250m forward sale of an office and retail scheme.

  • Starwood in connection with its formation of a joint venture with Lendlease and the JV's acquisition of a controlling interest in an LLP with development rights over a £3bn (GDV) development site.

  • The Stage Shoreditch LLP (a joint venture between Cain Hoy, Galliard Homes, McCourt and Vanke) on its acquisition of the £780m (GDV) mixed use (commercial, residential, retail and leisure) redevelopment of The Stage site in Shoreditch and subsequent pre-lets.

Professional

Natalie was admitted to practise in New South Wales in 2008 and in New Zealand in 2009.
 
Natalie began her career at Russell McVeagh before moving to London where she practised at UK law firms for nine years. Natalie returned to Russell McVeagh in 2021.
