Nasif is a Senior Associate across Russell McVeagh's Litigation and Public Law and Regulation teams, based in Wellington.

He is an experienced litigator with a background in trial and appellate advocacy. He has experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom across a broad range of matters, including regulatory investigations and enforcement, public law litigation and advice, civil and commercial litigation, criminal law, and reputation and crisis management.

Nasif began his legal career as a Judge's Clerk at the High Court of New Zealand, before practising as a Crown litigator and prosecutor. He has appeared throughout New Zealand's court system in criminal, regulatory investigation and enforcement, public law, and civil and commercial law cases on behalf of the Crown and other public bodies.  

Prior to joining Russell McVeagh in 2026, Nasif spent time abroad completing a Master of Laws at Harvard University as a Frank Knox Fellow, and working as a litigator and reputation and crisis management lawyer in London advising prominent businesses and senior leaders on how to navigate high-stakes challenges such as regulatory scrutiny, media pressure, and major transitions and transactions.

• A major water and sewage company in relation regulatory actions, government inquiries and reviews, and strategic communications and government relations projects.
• Numerous high net-worth individuals, international businesspeople and family offices in relation to engagement with regulators, media, online platforms and governments on wide-ranging matters involving issues such as data protection, privacy and media law, business integrity, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and investigations.
• A multinational company in relation to cross-border litigation and arbitration proceedings involving allegations of corruption.
• Various companies and individuals to counteract smear and extortion campaigns.
• Prominent media and entertainment personalities in relation to issues such as defamation, privacy, data protection, and intellectual property.
• A regional authority in relation to regulatory investigations, prosecutions, and other enforcement actions on matters related to environmental and resource management law.
• The Ministry of Health and various district health boards in relation to issues such as the care of intellectually disabled and mentally impaired patients, judicial review, habeas corpus, resource management and building code issues, contractual risk, and reform related issues.
• A health and safety regulator in relation to regulatory investigations, prosecutions, and other enforcement actions arising out of breaches of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
• A disciplinary body in relation to investigations and enforcement actions arising out of allegations of professional misconduct.
• A regulator in relation to investigations and enforcement actions arising out of non-compliance with industry regulations and statutes.
• The Crown and the New Zealand Police in jury and judge-alone trials and appeals.
