Elsie is a Senior Associate in Russell McVeagh's Government, Competition and Regulatory team.
She has broad experience advising a diverse range of clients on competition and regulatory matters, including merger clearances for complex domestic and international transactions, behavioural investigations involving cartel, merger control and market power allegations and market studies. She advises on compliance strategies, including in relation to joint ventures and competitor collaborations. Elsie also has experience advising businesses on their responsibilities under the Fair Trading Act and has previously acted on consumer law investigations.
Elsie joined Russell McVeagh in 2025 following several years working as a member of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher’s European antitrust practice, based in London. During this time Elsie primarily acted on high-value global transactions with cross-border application – including in the technology, pharmaceutical and space sectors. Prior to her move to London, Elsie practised competition law at other leading New Zealand firms.
