Callum Burnett is a senior associate in Russell McVeagh's Tax practice. He has extensive experience advising on corporate and international tax matters, including public and private M&A, private equity transactions, banking and finance transactions, and real estate and construction projects. Callum has also guided clients through New Zealand tax disputes and tax litigation.
Callum rejoined Russell McVeagh in 2025 after three years working in New York for top global law firms Kirkland & Ellis and Clifford Chance, where he advised on several high-profile transactions.
Prior to working in New York, Callum obtained a Master of Laws from New York University, specializing in International Taxation. He was awarded the Flora S. And Jacob L. Newman Award (as the joint top graduate of the International Tax LLM), and was a Gerald L. Wallace Fund Scholar and William Georgetti scholarship recipient.
