Overview
A summer clerkship is one of the best ways to gain real experience in commercial law and see what it is like to work at Russell McVeagh. Our programme is designed to give you as much experience as possible to legal work, our people and our culture.
You will rotate through two practice areas in either our Auckland, Wellington or Queenstown offices. This structure gives you broad experience of commercial law while also giving you enough time in each team to understand the work, contribute to real matters and build connections. Your first rotation runs from November to December and the second from January to February.
Across the summer, you will be involved in interesting work, transactions, cases, and client meetings, plus tailored trainings and briefings. You'll also be involved in a range of social and community initiatives across the summer.
We offer a fantastic induction programme, ongoing training, a buddy to help you settle in, as well as regular catch ups with the HR team.
If you're hoping to start your career at Russell McVeagh, we highly recommend applying for a summer clerkship.
