Sarah is a senior associate in Russell McVeagh's Banking and Finance team. She has experience across a broad range of banking and finance matters, with a focus on debt capital markets, structured finance and financial market regulation.

Experience

Sarah has banking and finance experience gained in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. She has acted on a broad range of matters, including advising:

  • Acting for Spark on its Sustainability-Linked Bond – the first in the New Zealand market;
  • Arrangers and managers on collateralised loan obligation transactions and related warehouse arrangements, refinancings and resets;

  • Banks on fund financings;

  • Banks on bespoke collateralised structured security issues;

  • Banks on their regulatory capital issues;

  • Banks on the establishment of their covered bond programmes and issues under them;

  • Banks on their retained RMBS programmes;

  • Banks and corporates on the establishment of various MTN programmes and issues under them; and

  • Banks and corporates on corporate financing arrangements.

Credentials

LLB, BA, Victoria University of Wellington.

Professional

Sarah began her career at Russell McVeagh before moving to London, where she worked in Allen & Overy LLP's international capital markets group as an associate and senior associate in the derivatives and structured finance team. She returned to the firm in 2021.
