Liz is the co-head of our Technology, Digital and Strategic Sourcing Practice and a leading New Zealand technology and digital law specialist. She advises exclusively on technology and digital matters, including in the areas of:
- strategic sourcing, procurement and supply (including 'as-a-service' arrangements)
- AI contracting and governance
- privacy, biometrics, data protection and cybersecurity
- technology separations and transitional arrangements in M&A
- telecommunications, including MVNO and other network access arrangements
- data centres
- e-commerce, spam and digital laws
- intellectual property
- digital fraud and scam prevention
- IT-specific financial services regulation, including RBNZ's BS11 Outsourcing Policy
- consumer data right and open finance
- digital payment systems and services
- IoT and blockchain
- technology and digital disputes
Liz has advised on some of the largest and most complex New Zealand-based technology and digital transactions, including both domestic and cross-border arrangements.
Liz is also a member of the Russell McVeagh Board and is the Board lead for the firm's AI transformation program of work.
Prior to joining Russell McVeagh, Liz was a senior associate at Milbank, based in London, during which time she also attended Harvard Law School’s executive education programme. She was an associate based in Ashurst LLP's London office previously.
