Profile

Lauren advises on all aspects of resource management and environmental law, with a focus on large-scale developments and infrastructure projects of regional and national significance.

She also advises on a range of district and national planning and policy matters, as well as alcohol licensing under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

Lauren has a range of litigation experience, having appeared before local authorities as well as in the Environment Court and High Court. 

Experience

Lauren's recent experience includes advising:

  • KiwiRail on a number of projects to increase the resilience of New Zealand's transport system, including a new intermodal freight hub near Palmerston North and the Wiri to Quay Park project which will enable the construction of a Third Main in Auckland. 

  • Woolworths on the resource consents for a comprehensive commercial and residential development in Halswell, Christchurch. 

  • Auckland International Airport on a range of resource management and planning matters, including the planning approvals for the development of a reconfigured second runway.

  • Drury South Limited on the development of the Drury South Crossing (a major mixed-use development in Drury, Auckland), including resource consents, private plan changes, and the negotiation of development agreements. 

  • Woolworths on alcohol licensing applications, including appearing before district licensing committees and the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority to successfully obtain off-licences.

  • Various clients on district plan changes and reviews throughout New Zealand.

Professional

Lauren was admitted in 2014. She was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2017 and Senior Associate in 2019.

Lauren was named as a 2022 Rising Star by NZ Lawyer Magazine, which recognises lawyers demonstrating leadership and achievement within New Zealand's legal profession.
