Profile

Alice advises on all aspects of planning and environmental law, with a focus on large-scale development and infrastructure projects. She has assisted clients on a variety of projects including in the urban development, energy, waste and transport infrastructure sectors.
 
Her expertise includes assisting with consenting and planning matters, environmental due diligence, environmental policy and legislative reform, and other local government matters including Public Works Act advice.
 
Alice has a range of litigation experience. She has appeared before local authorities as well as in the Environment Court and High Court.  

Experience

Alice's recent experience includes advising:

  • Waste Management on a variety of planning and consenting matters, including on its resource consent application for the Tirohia Landfill in the Waikato.

  • KiwiRail on a number of projects, including the Wiri to Quay Park Project which will enable the construction of a Third Main in Auckland.

  • Helios Energy on the consenting and development of a large-scale solar farm.

  • Fonterra on various planning and consenting matters across the country, including on changes to water quality policy documents and reverse sensitivity matters.

  • Various clients on district plan changes and reviews throughout New Zealand.

Professional

Alice was admitted in 2016 and joined Russell McVeagh in 2021. Alice was promoted to Senior Associate in 2023.
