Profile

Kirsty is an environmental and resource management specialist, advising on large-scale development and infrastructure projects, district and regional planning, and policy matters.
 
Her expertise includes advising on resource consent applications, notices of requirement and district and regional planning matters for a wide range of clients, including infrastructure providers, network utility operators and developers. Kirsty's recent experience also includes assisting a range of clients on Resource Management Reform and proposed national policy statements. 

Experience

Kirsty advises on all aspects of the Resource Management Act 1991 and related legislation. Her experience includes advising:

  • Watercare on a range of resource management and planning matters, including resource consents, notices of requirements and third-party private plan changes. She recently assisted with the resource consent application to extend the Central Interceptor wastewater tunnel.

  • Nelson Airport on a range of resource management matters, including the planning approvals for the development of an extended main runway.

  • Auckland International Airport on a range of resource management and planning matters.

  • Tauranga Crossing on resource management matters relating to the development of the Tauranga Crossing shopping centre.

  • Drury South Limited on the development of the Drury South Crossing (a major mixed-use development in Drury, Auckland).   

  • Various clients on district plan changes and reviews throughout New Zealand.

Professional

Kirsty was admitted in 2018 and joined Russell McVeagh in 2021. Kirsty was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2021 and Senior Associate in 2023.
