Congratulations to Derek Nolan and the Resource Management team for the recent publication of the fourth edition of Environmental and Resource Management Law. This LexisNexis textbook is the leading legal resource in NZ in this area of the law and is used frequently by Judges, practitioners, other professionals and by the Law Schools and Planning Schools.

Derek is the Editor and an author. Other authors include nine current and former Russell McVeagh partners and staff including Bal Matheson, James Gardner-Hopkins and Allison Arthur-Young.  Many members of the resource management team did a great job assisting the authors and are acknowledged personally in the Preface.

The first edition was written in 1980 by DAR Williams QC (as he now is) when he was a partner of Russell McVeagh. Derek has been the Editor for the subsequent editions in 1997 and 2005 and for the online edition which commenced in 2008 and is updated quarterly, with Russell McVeagh lawyers continuing to be the primary authors.
