Opportunities at Russell McVeagh

At Russell McVeagh, you don't need to be finished with your studies before beginning your career. Every year, we offer students a number of opportunities in our Auckland and Wellington offices through our dedicated clerkship and scholarship programmes.

Every year, we offer scholarships to third year law students across New Zealand. Our scholarships are a fantastic way to get ahead early on in your career. If you are awarded a scholarship with us, the benefits include financial assistance, work experience, mentoring and the opportunity to summer clerk in your penultimate year of study.

Summer Clerks

A summer clerkship is a great way to start your legal career and gain experience in commercial law. This three-month programme runs across the summer university break and is open to students in their penultimate year of study. Many of our summer clerks will often join us as law clerks when they've completed their studies.

Law Clerks

A law clerkship is a permanent position at Russell McVeagh for students who have finished studying. It's a great opportunity to begin your career at one of New Zealand's top commercial law firms where we fully support you as you transition from your studies to full-time work.
