Russell McVeagh Corporate partner and Board member Ian Beaumont has been named a finalist for the NZ Dealmaker of the Year Award in the 2021 Australasian Law Awards, alongside his Corporate Advisory team who are also up for an award in the NZ Deal Firm of the Year category.

Specialising in M&A, equity capital markets transactions and joint ventures, Ian led the Russell McVeagh team advising on some of New Zealand's most significant transactions of 2020, many of which were undertaken in extremely challenging circumstances. Highlights include advising ANZ on the sale of UDC Finance to Shinsei Bank for $762m and Auckland Airport on its $1.2b capital raising (the largest secondary raise in NZ history).

Clients have consistently offered the highest praise for Ian's work throughout the year, with one client noting that, "countless times he provided advice which cut straight to the core of a particular issue. No problem was ever too large for him and his team to ensure they delivered a successful outcome."

The winners will be announced in June.
