Meri Kirihimete – Russell McVeagh continues its annual tradition of providing an overview of the year's key developments in New Zealand's consumer law. It has been an exciting year with the first ever New Zealand court declaration under the Unfair Contract Terms (UCT) regime, an increase of the largest penalty ever imposed under the Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA), and a surge in the number of consumer complaints to the New Zealand Commerce Commission (NZCC).
