Mika specialises in complex commercial litigation and regulatory proceedings. She has acted for some of New Zealand's leading companies and has appeared as counsel in the District and High Courts, and in the Court of Appeal.

Mika joined Russell McVeagh in 2000 and acted on a wide range of commercial disputes involving contract, competition, intellectual property and consumer law. She then joined the Financial Services Authority in London, working on major financial sector investigations and litigation, before rejoining Russell McVeagh in 2005. She has since acted for some of New Zealand's leading retail banks in complex tax litigation relating to structured finance arrangements, and in Commerce Act proceedings brought by the Commerce Commission and various retailers in relation to credit card interchange fees.
